ABOUT RIN-SOCHIN
|
|
GUIDING PRINCIPLES Rin-Sochin operates on a few fundamental principles which are self-evident no matter which Dojo (class) you attend. They are as follows. EVERYONE IS WELECOME IN RIN-SOCHIN From the youngest child, to the more mature student. We adapt for the capabilities and disabilities of each individual. RESPECT We teach respect by showing respect and we lead by example. All are shown the same respect by the instructors, so that students learn its value. LESS IS MORE Rin-Sochin karate is a traditional and functional style rather than the more technical styles such as Aikido and Judo, which teach throws and holds, Rin-sochin karate is designed as a form of self-defence to ensure that you are never put into a position where throws and holds are needed. STRENGTH THROUGH PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE Students spar with each other on a regular basis, this non contact sparring (kumite) practice enables the students to develop confidence about their ability to withstand a real attack. KARATE IS FUN Although we teach respect and discipline you also get a great workout in class, above all we believe karate should be enjoyable and fun. Of course it is great to know that you can defend yourself, but we want you to enjoy your classes too. That’s why our classes are designed to cover a range of activities that not only test your capabilities but are enjoyable too.
